Shattered by Tracy Wolff

** ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Shattered is the followup to Shredded, a book about a group of snowboarders.  I learned a ton about snowboarding reading these books, I had to google a lot of terms.
Synopsis
Ash Lewis has poured every last ounce of his blood, sweat, and tears into reaching the very top of the professional snowboarding world—until the unthinkable happens. After the biggest competition win of his career, Ash’s mother and father are killed in a tragic accident. Unable to handle the idea of going back out on the snow to pursue the dream his parents shared with him, Ash feels that he has no choice but to walk away from snowboarding forever. Then he meets Tansy Hampton.
Wild, fun, and impulsive, Tansy has a different look and a new passion every week. As a cancer survivor who spent the past several years waiting to die, Tansy has a fresh perspective on life—even if she doesn’t have a clue about what she actually wants to do with it. But she’s determined to find out, and that means making the most of her time while she still can.
From the very beginning, their chemistry is intense. But while Ash can’t stop chasing the ghosts of what can never be, Tansy stays firmly focused on the possibilities the world holds for her—and for them. She’s already picked up the pieces of one shattered life. Now she’s determined to help Ash do the same.

The book starts 6 months after the accident that kills Ash's parents, and Ash is trying to pick up the pieces.  He is the primary caregiver for his younger brother who was paralyzed in the accident.  Ash has quit snowboarding because he thinks he has to take care of hi brother, and he feel guilty constantly.  Tansy shows up to try and convince him to grant a wish for a child who is dying of cancer, and the only thing he wants is to watch Ash snowboard.
Ash is heartbroken and just trying to keep his head above water, and after surviving cancer, Tansy is determined to live for the first time in her life.  I loved Ash and Tansy, my heart broke for Ash, and I loved Tansy's love for life, and her quirkiness.  This is a great story about heartache and loss, and coming out on the other side.  I really liked it, it was definitely a 4.5 star read for me.   This book releases on 5/20, but is available for pre order now!!

Beautiful Ink by Nicole Reed

I absolutely loved this book and it was completely different than any other biker book that I have read, and I have read a lot.
Synopsis:

Family.
I have tattooed that single word on more skin than I care to count. It elicits powerful thoughts and emotions for most people.
Loving. Caring.
Supportive. Togetherness.
Forever.
But not for me. The word family means so much more.
Vicious. Harmful.
Dangerous. Corrupt.
Deadly.
You can’t run forever from the ones who love you.

This book sucked me in right from the beginning, the prologue was all kinds of craziness.  We meet Helen and Hold in the prologue and you are wondering how the hell they got to this point.  In chapter one we go back in time and we begin to understand the dynamic between the two.  In most biker books we love the MC.  You know they are bad guys and that they have done bad things, but they are still sexy and endearing and we still root for them.  That is not the case in this book!  This story makes you hate the MC and my heart broke for Helen, because she hated the life and she felt like she couldn't get out.
Helen was a fantastic character, she was strong, and different.  She wanted to so bad to have a normal life, and knew that she never could in the MC.  You could also see that was torn because that was all she had never known, and her only family.  I absolutely loved this book, for a good portion of the book I was certain that it could end happy.  It is not a cliffhanger and I definitely recommend it, even if you don't like biker books.  It is pretty dark and gritty, so be forewarned.

Just One Night by Lauren Layne

**ARC provided in exchange for an honest review

Synopsis
Riley McKenna knows sex—good sex, bad sex, kinky sex. Her articles in Stiletto magazine are the publication’s most scandalous—and the most read. But when Stiletto’s fiftieth anniversary issue requires her column to get a lot more personal, Riley is forced to confront a long-hidden secret: Her own sexual experience is limited to one awkward college encounter. Now Riley is about to call in the favor of a lifetime from the one man who’s always held her heart.
Sam Compton knows two things about Riley McKenna: She’s the only woman for him. But as his best friend’s little sister, she’s also completely off-limits. Sam shouldn’t even consider her proposition: to have a one-night stand in the name of research. But the thought of another man putting his hands on Riley is more than Sam can handle, and soon he’s agreeing to one night with New York’s resident sexpot. But Riley’s full of surprises, and what starts as “one time only” soon becomes “just one more time.” And then one more. And before they know it, Riley and Sam learn firsthand that when it comes to love, there’s no such thing as just one night.

This was a fun. sexy, light read.  I loved Riley, she was tons of fun, and confident, but still vulnerable.  Sam was sexy, and complicated, and made you want to hug him.  This was one of those books that you wanted to scream a little at the characters and tell them to just talk to each other.  But that's what sucks you in to the story.  This the third in the series, but can be read as a stand alone.  I haven't read the previous ones, but this one made me want to go back and read them.  The dialogue was funny, and at times, heartfelt, I really enjoyed this book.  If you are looking for a fun sexy read, this book fits the bill!!

Cover Reveal for RIPPED
(REAL #5)

Check out the cover and the synopsis for RIPPED, this is the 5th in the REAL series and this one is about a hot rock star!!

Synopsis:
Every woman wants me--except the one I sing for.
Seattle shakes with anticipation: they call it the concert of the year. They say girls are getting pregnant just thinking about Crack Bikini being in town.
But when you love a girl, you don't leave her with nothing but a ring and a promise.
Any man with half a brain should know..

So what did I expect my girl would do when she saw me again?
Well, for starters, she loathes our music. Particularly the song I wrote about her.
When I sing it, the stadium is in an uproar. Thousands of fans scream my name like
I'm a god--but yeah, not her. Crystal clear: the girl's not happy to see me.
Black hair, black boots, a bad attitude, that's her -- Pandora Stone is a freaking man-eater and she's out for my blood.
That's alright.

Let her come at me. Because I'm out for her heart and, this time, there's no way she can stop me.

Summer Sky by Lisa Swallow
**ARC provided in exchange for an honest review

Sky changed her life for a man once, and she has no intention of doing it again - even if he is a six-foot, tattooed rock god who makes a mean bacon sandwich.
Sky Davis is fed up of boyfriend Grant taking her for granted, and when she comes home to find him wearing a girl, Sky suspects the relationship is over. She takes an unscheduled vacation and leaves the life (and guy) she hates behind.
Rock star Dylan Morgan is struggling with fame and infamy, sick of his life being controlled by other people. Dylan cuts his hair and walks away from his role as lead singer of Blue Phoenix, leaving behind chaos and speculation.
Outside the English seaside town of Broadbeach, their cars and worlds collide.
Sky decides Dylan is an arrogant guy with too many tattoos, and Dylan is amused by the smart-mouthed girl with no idea who he is. Dylan and Sky soon discover they’ve travelled to Broadbeach for the same reason - to escape from reality and head back to a place with happy childhood memories. Losing themselves in a world where they know nothing about each other, Sky and Dylan begin a holiday romance that soon heats up their rainy English summer.
Fantasies can’t last forever, and when reality crashes the party, Sky isn’t sure she wants to be more than his ‘summer Sky’ but Dylan doesn’t want to let her go.
Returning to the real world, public scrutiny isn’t their only problem. Blue Phoenix lead guitarist, Jem Jones, has a reason for wanting Sky out of Dylan’s life, and is determined to come between them. Some things won’t stay hidden, even when they’re paid to ‘go away’.

Summer Sky is a contemporary romance with a rock star flavour where occasionally more than the bacon sizzles. It is the first in the Blue Phoenix series.

Please note: This is written in UK English and includes English idiom and spelling.
When we meet Dylan and Sky, Sky has no idea who Dylan is, and he loves that.  I like that they got to know one another with no pretense about the fact that Dylan is a famous rock star.  And when Sky figures out who Dylan is, it actually makes her like him less, not more, which is a twist from the usual rock star romance.  I will say Sky frustrated me a few times, because she was only holding Dylan at arms length because he was a rock star.  She obviously had feelings for him, but she was scared of being sucked into his life
Dylan is a sexy, tattooed rock star, which I am a sucker for.  And he cooks bacon, what more could you ask for!!!  Dylan also has another side, and I wanted to hug him.  He is tired of all the fame and rock star life and he is hoping that Sky can help him find his way out.

This is a fun, heart felt love story that I absolutely loved.  I would give it 4.5 stars.  There is a cliffhanger, but the next book is scheduled to be released in early June.  It is currently on sale for $.99 too.

Carnage by Lesley Jones
**ARC provided in exchange for a honest review
Synopsis
I love him, from the instant I set eyes on him when I was just 11 years old I have loved him and nothing will ever change that, he owns me, he owns my heart and he owns my body and no matter how many lies are told, no matter how many people conspire to keep us apart, despite the fame and the distance, we will find a way.
“Georgia Rae, when we made love you used to cry”… He waits for me to sing my bit. I try to swallow down a sob but I just end up singing through it…
“I said I love you like the stars above, I’ll love you till I die”
Carnage, an edgy coming of age love story that breaks all the rules and transcends the decades. Georgia and Sean's story will stay with you long after you read the final word.
An emotional, smoking hot, gut wrenching read
I absolutely fell in love with this book!  It was emotional, heart breaking, amazing, and completely consumed me!  This book starts with 2 young kids, who fall in love, but they were so young, I had a hard time relating.  It did take me awhile to get into, but once I did, HOLY COW!  As we watch them grow you really understand that they were meant to be together.  At times, I wanted to scream, and I cried several times!  I loved that the book spanned years, and we got a ton of insight into all the characters.
This book is part 1 of 2, but they say it can be read as a standalone. but the end of the book is so sad!!!  I need more!  My only issue was that I am not English! This is written with a lot of British slang, and it took me a while to get the hang of it.  This story is incredible, but it will make you cry!  It is not a cliffhanger but it still almost killed me!
This is definitely a 4.5 star read and it is not for the faint of heart, but it is incredible!!!
