Necessary Sin Book 1, Georgia Cates

Necessary Sin is the first book by Georgia Cates.  I really enjoyed her Beauty series, so I was excited tor read this one.

Synopsis:
Bleu MacAllister is consumed. A horrific childhood incident has caused every decision in her life to revolve around bringing a monster to justice. With years spent studying The Fellowship, a Scottish organized crime brotherhood of liars, thieves, and killers, Bleu will rely on her skills as a special agent to cut Thane Breckenridge off at the knees. But walking hand in hand with retribution means risking collateral damage, in the form of Breckenridge's son Sinclair--until Sin becomes so much more than Bleu bargained for. She's always known this undertaking would place her life in danger--she never imagined her heart would be as well.

I was immediately sucked into this story.  I was pretty sure I knew where it was going to go, and for the most part it didn't deviate.  But there was a few twists and turns along the way.  Before we meet Sinclair we are led to believe that he is a ruthless bad guy.  But he doesn't really come across that way.
He has definitely done some bad things, but he come across as sweet and sincere.
And I really liked Bleu as well.  She was independent and smart. and maybe a little naive.  But you couldn't help but feel for her.  I loved seeing things not go as she had planned.

The end is a crazy cliffhanger so be forewarned.  This book is available now and I would give it a strong 4 stars!  Book 2 will be available in February.

The author is also having a giveaway for a Kindle Fire!!  Make sure you enter as well!!

FREE ME by Laurelin Page

This book is a followup the Fixed Trilogy, but can be read as a standalone.  I loved the Fixed Trilogy, so I am very excited to read this one.

Synopsis:
Screw fairytales. The only reward Gwen Anders got from her rough childhood was a thick skin and hard heart. She’s content with her daily grind managing a top NYC nightclub—Eighty-Eighth Floor. So hers isn’t a happily ever after. She doesn’t believe in those anyway.
Then she meets J.C.
The rich, smooth talking playboy is the sexiest thing that Gwen has ever encountered, but she’s not interested in a night-in-shining latex. But when a family tragedy pushes her to the brink, it’s J.C. who’s there to teach her a new method of survival, one based on following primal urges and desires. His no-strings-attached lessons require her to abandon her constant need for control. Her carefully built walls are obliterated.
Gwen discovers there’s a beautiful world outside her prison. Freedom is exhilarating—and terrifying. When she starts to feel something for J.C., she fears for her heart. Especially as she realizes that he has secrets of his own. Secrets that don't want to set him free.

We meet Gwen in the Fixed Trilogy, but we don't know much about her so I am anxious to get some more insight into her character.

Crush by JC Emery

I have read all the book in the Bayonet Scars series, so I was very excited to be a part of the blog tour for the new book!!

Synopsis:
Young love is always perfect. Until it's not.
Cheyenne Grady is a total daddy's girl to her bad-ass father, the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Forsaken Motorcycle Club. She's funny, and kind, and she just wants that deep, earth-shattering love like her dad has with her school secretary, Holly. But Cheyenne's been looking in the wrong direction, because the only good that can come from the way she looks at Jeremy Whelan is a lesson in heartbreak.
Jeremy always wanted to prospect for the Forsaken Motorcycle Club and wear the same patch as his father. When a life-long dream becomes reality, Jeremy realizes that the outlaw lifestyle is not for the faint of heart. Nor is it easy on relationships. He wants to be a good man, but temptation is everywhere.
Cheyenne is beautiful, and strong, and exactly what Jeremy could have forever. As long as he doesn't screw it up.
Love is never more powerful than the first time.
I was really looking forward to reading Jeremy and Cheyenne's story.  I enjoyed getting into Jeremy's head, he was hilarious.  But he was an a-hole for a good portion of the book!  His character is very young so I tried to remember that, he was a punk though!  He was mean to Cheyenne, and a huge part of me wanted Cheyenne to move on and not look back.
But we always root for the bad boy in these books!!  Cheyenne was very young, and she made some silly young girl mistakes, but you couldn't help but love her.  She was smart, but occasionally did stupid things that made me shake me head.  In the end she made the right decisions.

This book was darker, and the characters were so young, it made this one very different than the previous books in the series.  I really enjoyed it, I would give it 4 stars, however, it is probably my least favorite of the series.  Still a great continuation of the story.  This book will be available on 12/15/14.
