Hold My Breath
by Ginger Scott

Synopsis:
Fractions of seconds can do lots of damage. One decision can ruin lives. A blink can be tragic. And loving a Hollister…can hurt like hell.

I would know.

They say the average person can hold their breath under water for two full minutes when pushed to the extremes. Will Hollister has been holding his for years. The oldest of two elite swimming brothers, Will was always a dominant force in the water. But in life, he preferred to let his younger brother Evan be the one to shine.

Evan got the girl, and Will…he got to bury all of the secrets. A brother’s burden, the weight of it all nearly left him to drown.

The daughter of two Olympians, my path was set the day my fingertips first touched water. My future was as crystal clear as the lane I dominated in the pool—swim hard, win big, love a Hollister.

My life with Evan burned bright. He gave me arms to come home to, and a smile that fooled the world into believing everything was perfect. But it was Will who pushed me. Will…who really knew me.

And when all of the pieces fell, it was Will who started to pick them up.

In the end, the only thing that matters are those few precious seconds—and what we decide to do while we still have them in our grasp.

I have become a huge Ginger Scott in the last few months, and I have devoured everything I could find by her.  I was very excited for this one, and I loved it!
I liked Maddy from the beginning.  She was strong, but sad.  Maddy's future went on hold when her boyfriend Evan died in a plane crash.  And Will, his older brother has come back and stirred up all those feelings.  This is the story of both of them moving past that and moving forward together.  And in true Ginger Scott style, there is quite a twist that I did not see coming.

This story is sad at times, but also uplifting and inspiring.  I highly recommend this story

Heat Wave
by Karina Halle

This is a brand new stand alone by Karina Halle and I am a huge fan of hers, so I was excited to get my hands on this one.

Synopsis:
They say when life closes one door, another one opens.
This door happens to lead to paradise.
And a man I can never, ever have.

Still grieving the loss of her sister who died two years ago, the last thing Veronica "Ronnie" Locke needed was to lose her job at one of Chicago’s finest restaurants and have to move back in with her parents. So when a window of opportunity opens for her – running a kitchen at a small Hawaiian hotel – she’d be crazy not to take it.

The only problem is, the man running the hotel drives her crazy:
Logan Shephard.
It doesn’t matter that he’s got dark brown eyes, a tall, muscular build that’s sculpted from daily surfing sessions, and a deep Australian accent that makes your toes curl.
What does matter is that he’s a grump.
Kind of an asshole, too.
And gets under Ronnie’s skin like no one else.

But the more time Ronnie spends on the island of Kauai, falling in love with the lush land and its carefree lifestyle, the closer she gets to Logan. And the closer she gets to Logan, the more she realizes she may have pegged him all wrong. Maybe it’s the hot, steamy jungles or the invigorating ocean air, but soon their relationship becomes utterly intoxicating.

There’s just one major catch.

The two of them together would incite a scandal neither Ronnie, nor her family, would ever recover from.

Halle has brought us another amazing romance in an incredible location.  This book is about longing, love, moving forward and forgetting the past and finding who your family is.  When Veronica arrives in Hawaii she is lost and at the end of her rope.  And Logan, her brother in law and the hotel owner, is broody and sexy and Veronica wants to hate him.  Watching them both come to know who they are and what they want is amazing.  And the scenery in the story is incredible.  It makes you feel as though you are there, and now I want to go to Hawaii!!!

This is available now and I highly recommend it.  This is a complete stand alone with a happy ending and amazing scenery.

Lucas
by Jay McLean

Synopsis:
In a sprint, every millisecond counts.
When you're waiting for love, those milliseconds can feel like eons.

High school senior Lucas Preston has it all: star of the track team, a scholarship waiting for him, an apartment to himself and a revolving door of girlfriends. He also has an older sister, five younger brothers and a father who relies on him to make sure those brothers don't kill each other.

His saving grace? Lois "Laney" Sanders, a girl he started to fall in like with when he was just eleven.
A girl who became his best friend, his confidant, his courage.

It took only sixteen clicks and eight seconds for Lucas to realize that his like for Laney had turned into love.
Eight life-changing seconds.
It's also the exact length of time it took to lose her.

I am a huge fan of this author and I fell in love with Lucas immediatelyThis is a spin off from the More Than series, and we met Lucas in Lucy and Cameron's book.  I have always loved Jay McLean's books because they are funny and sweet but also emotional and heartbreaking.  And this one is no different.  In Lucy's book we get to know some of the Preston family, but this one gets even deeper in there dynamic.  It made me feel like I was part of the Preston clan.  And Laney was amazing.  She was strong and sweet, but also vulnerable.  There was of course a time when I wanted to scream at them both!  And also several heart breaking parts, I adored the whole thing.  The relationship between Lucas and Laney was so complex and sweet and I loved being a part of it.
Lucas is available now, and I highly recommend it!!
