Bittersweet Catastrophe (Second Chances 2.5)
by Maureen Mayer

This book is the third in a series, and it was only supposed to be a novella, but it's almost 200 pages, and a ton happens!!!  This is the continuation of Shayne and Liberty's story, who we meet in book 1.  I have really enjoyed this series, and this one didn't disappoint.

Synopsis:
For•ev•er (fɔˈrɛvə; fə-): without end; everlasting; eternally
It might have taken twenty-two years to find Liberty, but now that Shayne has her, he’s not willing to let her go without a fight.
Shayne and Liberty finally found their forever, leaving Shayne’s past indiscretions behind and moving forward to start a life together. But what if forever wasn’t truly in the stars for them?
What should be one of the happiest times in their lives as newlyweds quickly turns into a race against time. Liberty must choose between accepting her fate and protecting her family, and taking a risk that could ultimately end in more heartache.
Liberty’s decision will test the strength of their trust, but is it enough to keep Shayne from breaking down altogether and losing the woman he loves?

I loved Shayne in Relinquishing Liberty, and that just grew in this book.  He is a little bit of a bad boy, but with a huge heart, and he LOVES Liberty with everything he has.  Liberty frustrated me a bit in this story, but without giving too much away, I think I would have done what she did, had I been in her position.

This book was sexy, and heart breaking at times.  I wanted to scream at Liberty and hug her also.  I loved that we got Shayne's POV in this story, I loved getting into his head.  This book made me laugh, but also made me sob like a baby.  I experienced every heart break with Shayne and Liberty and it completely sucked me in.

I really liked this continuation of Shayne and Liberty's story and I can't wait for more.  There is one more book in this series coming, and I can't wait.  The first 2 books in the series are on sale for $.99 right now, so if you haven't had the pleasure of reading them yet, now is the time!

Cover Reveal for Raced

Driven is one of my all time favorite series, and Raced is a novella from Colton's POV and it comes out in September.  I am ecstatic!

Here is the cover, synopsis and a blurb from the book

Colton Donavan lived life in the fast lane, but it took Rylee Thomas to teach him what racing was all about.

Arrogant
Rogue
Broken
Conceited
Dirty-Talking
Rebel
Egomaniacal
Voodooed
Bent
Reckless

You think you know me?

Think again.

*Raced is not a complete re-write of the Driven Trilogy. This companion explores pivotal scenes as well as some new ones written in Colton Donavan’s point of view that were not previously published in Driven, Fueled, and Crashed. Hear his thoughts, experience his inner-turmoil, and laugh with him on his journey as he overcomes his demons and accepts what it means to love.

This novella is for the devoted readers of the Driven series. It is recommended that this companion be read after Driven, Fueled, and Crashed.

Excerpt:

“Well, according to you, I took the checkered flag last night, Rylee...” I say as I take a step toward her trying to snap my thoughts in line, make up a reason for being here besides the need to make sure she’s okay when I could have just picked up the fucking phone. I resist the urge to reach out and touch her because I know if I do, my dick will rise to the occasion and do the talking for me. And fuck if I know what it will say.
She licks her lips, dick beginning to win the internal thought process when I suddenly figure out my angle – my in – my stupid ass excuse for showing up the morning after like some pussy-whipped douchebag. Because fuck, you can’t get pussy-whipped after just one taste. Shit like that takes time to acquire.
Or so I’ve heard.
This man might be drawn to the pussy palace but fuck if its queen will hand out orders that I’ll obey.
I take another step toward her, still undecided about my excuse for being here when I glance down momentarily and see her nipples harden through her tank. Well at least I know she’s still attracted to me. Let’s see if I can make her like me again. Give me another chance.
Bingo. Truth shall set me free. There’s the answer. I just want another chance when I’ve never wanted one before.
And therein lies the second question, another chance at what though?

Colton is one of my all time favorite book boyfriends, and Rylee is probably my favorite female character.  I can't wait to get more of these two.  Pre order is available for this book now, and also Becks and Haddie have a book coming out early next year.

There is also a giveaway available for signed books and a kindle!!!

Love, by George
by Robert Taylor
I was gifted this book by a dear friend because a friend of her's wrote it, and she contributed on a some of it.  Both story content and editing.  I had no expectations going in and I was pleasantly surprised.
Synposis:
Love by George is the story of poet Hope and online dating mogul George. Both at risk of joining the terminally single, they stumble upon love the old-fashioned way - by chance - after being pulled for the same random drug and alcohol test. Struggling with the paltry income from her greeting card business, Hope accepts a position at Love by George, Chicago's premier dating service. She makes an immediate impression on George, the company's founder, a bachelor torn between the pursuit of wealth and feeling truly alive. On New Year's Eve, it happens: midnight passion, long in the making, caught on camera. The consequences of a single kiss were never weighed, let alone the PR ramifications of one after another after another. Now what? One thing is certain: With the Paparazzi lurking, George's next move will be no secret. Will their first intimacy be their last?
Love, by George was a fun light-hearted read, that I immensely enjoyed.  It was an innocent look at falling in love by chance.  The characters were funny, sweet and completely loveable.  It was romantic without being cheesy or sappy, which I appreciated.  The relationship between Hope and her family was fantastic.  They were quirky and loving, and I wanted to have a Holiday dinner with them.  We also had a character that we hated, which every good romance needs at least one.   This book is sweet and hopeful.
This story is innocent (no sex) but it is still a great read.  It is fun, sweet, romantic, and a little quirky.  This is Robert Taylor's debut novel and he did a fantastic job.  This book proves that you can have a great romance, without all the angst and sex.  This was a solid 4 stars for me.  I hope you all enjoy it!!

All That Matters by Michelle Congdon

Synopsis:
She is a teen sensation and also the infamous daughter of a renowned rock star and a Hollywood starlet.
Eighteen-year-old Harper Hudson is spoiled, wild and troubled. Still dealing with the loss of her twin sister and surviving a horrifying event that she has kept secret, Harper relies on constant partying, alcohol and drugs to help her forget.
He is her cousin and a straight ‘A’ student trying to juggle football and a medical degree.
Adopted as a baby, there isn’t anything twenty-one year old Jackson Hayward wouldn’t do for the people who raised him. But the last thing on his mind is to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a doctor. And Jackson has a secret of his own. He isn’t the perfect son his family are led to believe.
A forbidden romance they never saw coming.
Sent away to live with her Aunty and Uncle in Australia, as punishment for her latest stunt, the last thing Harper wants is to be babysat by her over-achieving, do-gooder cousin, Jackson. He is moody and overbearing, but there’s something about him that Harper can’t seem to ignore.
Jackson didn’t mean to fall for the rebellious wild child. But seeing small glimpses of her true personality shine through made it impossible not too. He knows the secret she keeps is the reason behind her destructive behavior and he is willing to risk whatever it takes to try to help her. But can something so broken ever be truly fixed? And can someone with painful secrets of his own save her without getting caught up along the way?

When I started this book I was not a fan of Harper.  She seemed spoiled and hell bent on ruining her life, and those around her.  But the more we learn about her past and her family, the more loveable she becomes.  And Jackson is completely the good boy, we think.  But the more we learn about him, we learn he is hiding a ton and trying to convince everyone around him that he is perfect.  I wanted to hug him!!

I will admit that the cousin thing freaked me out a little at first.  But, Jackson is adopted, and they did not really grow up together.  As the story progressed, I definitely rooted for them.
This story definitely sucked me in and had me feeling for the characters.  I wanted them to figure out the stuff they had going so they could have a happily ever after.

I really enjoyed this book and I definitely rooted for the characters.  It does contain some mature issues discussed.  A 4 star read for sure, you should all read!  And, it's only $1.99!  This is Book 2, but it can be read as a standalone, and is not a cliffhanger.

Carnage 2, The Story of Me
by Lesley Jones
I have been anxiously awaiting this book because the end of Carnage 1 almost killed me.  It was an incredible gut wrenching love story that spanned decades.  But the end was a killer!  The author never intended to write a book 2, but to reader response, she decided to go ahead and write it.  And it did not disappoint, it was absolutely incredible!

Synopsis:
When your world, your life and all of your hopes and dreams for the future are ripped out from under you, how do you go on?
Death without dying is not only the most painful kind of death, it's also the most painful kind of life and I don't know if I'm strong enough to live it.
I spend my lonely days and nights trying to make sense of what my life has become. Do I have the strength to move forward into the light, or should I just let the darkness take me?
I'm Georgia Rae Layton McCarthy and this is the story of me, just me.
I'm no longer a part of an us, it's just me.
Alone.
By myself.

I am going to try and make this as spoiler free as possible.  This book was amazing.  It took us into the mind of Georgia so completely, I felt such turmoil for her.  She is feeling things that she feels she shouldn't, and I was so into the story, I found myself feeling all those things as well.

Displaying Teaser 1.jpg
She is an incredibly strong female lead and she is hilarious.  Her family and friends love her completely and are willing to do just about anything for her, and I just loved them, because of how they loved her.
This book made me cry, and laugh, and cry again.  We had great characters in the first book, but Lesley managed to bring some more into Book 2 that were just as awesome.  And a few B's that I loved to hate!
This whole series is fantastic, and it might be my most unexpected read of the year.  It completely consumed me!  I am in love with this author and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next.  Everyone should read this whole series, I gave it 5+ stars!  The first book is not a happy ending, but book 2 is out, so you will only have to live with the heartbreak for a short time!!!
