Necessary Sin Book 1, Georgia Cates

Necessary Sin is the first book by Georgia Cates.  I really enjoyed her Beauty series, so I was excited tor read this one.

Synopsis:
Bleu MacAllister is consumed. A horrific childhood incident has caused every decision in her life to revolve around bringing a monster to justice. With years spent studying The Fellowship, a Scottish organized crime brotherhood of liars, thieves, and killers, Bleu will rely on her skills as a special agent to cut Thane Breckenridge off at the knees. But walking hand in hand with retribution means risking collateral damage, in the form of Breckenridge's son Sinclair--until Sin becomes so much more than Bleu bargained for. She's always known this undertaking would place her life in danger--she never imagined her heart would be as well.

I was immediately sucked into this story.  I was pretty sure I knew where it was going to go, and for the most part it didn't deviate.  But there was a few twists and turns along the way.  Before we meet Sinclair we are led to believe that he is a ruthless bad guy.  But he doesn't really come across that way.
He has definitely done some bad things, but he come across as sweet and sincere.
And I really liked Bleu as well.  She was independent and smart. and maybe a little naive.  But you couldn't help but feel for her.  I loved seeing things not go as she had planned.

The end is a crazy cliffhanger so be forewarned.  This book is available now and I would give it a strong 4 stars!  Book 2 will be available in February.

FREE ME by Laurelin Page

This book is a followup the Fixed Trilogy, but can be read as a standalone.  I loved the Fixed Trilogy, so I am very excited to read this one.

Synopsis:
Screw fairytales. The only reward Gwen Anders got from her rough childhood was a thick skin and hard heart. She’s content with her daily grind managing a top NYC nightclub—Eighty-Eighth Floor. So hers isn’t a happily ever after. She doesn’t believe in those anyway.
Then she meets J.C.
The rich, smooth talking playboy is the sexiest thing that Gwen has ever encountered, but she’s not interested in a night-in-shining latex. But when a family tragedy pushes her to the brink, it’s J.C. who’s there to teach her a new method of survival, one based on following primal urges and desires. His no-strings-attached lessons require her to abandon her constant need for control. Her carefully built walls are obliterated.
Gwen discovers there’s a beautiful world outside her prison. Freedom is exhilarating—and terrifying. When she starts to feel something for J.C., she fears for her heart. Especially as she realizes that he has secrets of his own. Secrets that don't want to set him free.

We meet Gwen in the Fixed Trilogy, but we don't know much about her so I am anxious to get some more insight into her character.

Crush by JC Emery

I have read all the book in the Bayonet Scars series, so I was very excited to be a part of the blog tour for the new book!!

Synopsis:
Young love is always perfect. Until it's not.
Cheyenne Grady is a total daddy's girl to her bad-ass father, the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Forsaken Motorcycle Club. She's funny, and kind, and she just wants that deep, earth-shattering love like her dad has with her school secretary, Holly. But Cheyenne's been looking in the wrong direction, because the only good that can come from the way she looks at Jeremy Whelan is a lesson in heartbreak.
Jeremy always wanted to prospect for the Forsaken Motorcycle Club and wear the same patch as his father. When a life-long dream becomes reality, Jeremy realizes that the outlaw lifestyle is not for the faint of heart. Nor is it easy on relationships. He wants to be a good man, but temptation is everywhere.
Cheyenne is beautiful, and strong, and exactly what Jeremy could have forever. As long as he doesn't screw it up.
Love is never more powerful than the first time.
I was really looking forward to reading Jeremy and Cheyenne's story.  I enjoyed getting into Jeremy's head, he was hilarious.  But he was an a-hole for a good portion of the book!  His character is very young so I tried to remember that, he was a punk though!  He was mean to Cheyenne, and a huge part of me wanted Cheyenne to move on and not look back.
But we always root for the bad boy in these books!!  Cheyenne was very young, and she made some silly young girl mistakes, but you couldn't help but love her.  She was smart, but occasionally did stupid things that made me shake me head.  In the end she made the right decisions.
Displaying crush2.png
This book was darker, and the characters were so young, it made this one very different than the previous books in the series.  I really enjoyed it, I would give it 4 stars, however, it is probably my least favorite of the series.  Still a great continuation of the story.  This book will be available on 12/15/14.

Surviving Us by Erin Noelle

Synopsis:
Two survivors.
Two weeks.
One awakening.

When Bristol Criswell travels to St. Lucia for an Enduring Life retreat, she hopes to discover encouragement and support from like souls. A vacation fling is the furthest thing from her mind, especially not with a cocky-mouthed, arrogant jerk like Davis McKay.

But when it becomes evident she can’t deny the magnetic attraction between the two, she gives in to her desires, and for the first time in her life, learns the difference between simply living and truly feeling alive.

As their time in paradise quickly comes to an end, will her heart be able to withstand another devastating loss when it’s time to say goodbye, or will their connection be strong enough to survive the real world?

Death brought them together, but love will give them a reason to live.

I absolutely fell in love with these two characters.  Bristol and Davis's stories were heartbreaking.  But there ability to move forward and survive was inspiring.  Both of them had lived through tragedy and were stuck with feelings of grief and guilt.  This is the story of how they helped each other move on.  Davis was cocky and smart mouthed, but you couldn't help but fall in love with him.  He was sweet and sexy
Displaying Surviving Us Teaser #3.jpg
Bristol was the kind of girl I would want to be friends with.  She kept people at a distance, but she fell hard for Davis.  She was tons of fun.

This is a sexy, sweet, emotional read, and I highly recommend it.  I give it a solid 4.5 stars!

For The Record by KA Linde

I have been anxiously waiting for the final installment of Brady and Liz's story, so I was incredibly excited when I was given an early copy to review.

Synopsis:
With Congressman Brady Maxwell up for reelection and journalist Liz Dougherty about to graduate into a promising career, the ambitious couple’s future is brighter than ever. They share a passion for their work…and for each other. But when Brady holds a press conference to officially introduce Liz as his girlfriend, reporters hungry for a scandal bombard her. Now, her every move is under a vicious magnifying glass, and her life feels like it’s falling apart.
On the road to reelection, the passionate bond between the congressman and the journalist gets tested at every stop. Threatened by shameless media sensationalism and jealous exes, Brady and Liz now have to learn to trust each other despite what they read in the papers.

I struggle when I review a book that's in a series because I don't want to give too much away from the previous books!!  I loved Brady and Liz from the beginning.  KA Linde has written another series, called the Avoiding series, that I really enjoyed, but at the same time, drove me absolutely crazy.  I wanted to kill all the characters.  If you are avoiding this series because of that, you shouldn't.  This series is completely different than the Avoiding series.
Brady is super sexy and makes me want to start researching senators.  He is completely in control, and at the same time, makes me swoon.

Liz is a fantastic strong female lead that I admired.  I loved that she wanted her own life and didn't just want to live off the senator.  She was ambitious, and at the same time, completely supported Brady.
I thought this was a fantastic conclusion to Brady and Liz's story.  It was a little angsty, and a lot sexy.  The epilogue was great, and gave us a great little insight into the future.  I will miss them!

For The Record comes out on 11/18, but it is available for pre-order now.  The first 2 books in the series are available now and are only $1.99.

Here is the cover for Amy Harmon's newest book.  Amy Harmon is amazing and I can't wait to read this one.

Displaying TLM-print-for-web.jpg

This book will be releases on 11/27 and it will be available for pre order on 11/14

Synopsis:

If I tell you right up front, right in the beginning that I lost him, it will be easier for you to bear. You will know it’s coming, and it will hurt. But you’ll be able to prepare.

Someone found him in a laundry basket at the Quick Wash, wrapped in a towel, a few hours old and close to death. They called him Baby Moses when they shared his story on the ten o’clock news – the little baby left in a basket at a dingy Laundromat, born to a crack addict and expected to have all sorts of problems. I imagined the crack baby, Moses, having a giant crack that ran down his body, like he’d been broken at birth. I knew that wasn’t what the term meant, but the image stuck in my mind. Maybe the fact that he was broken drew me to him from the start.

It all happened before I was born, and by the time I met Moses and my mom told me all about him, the story was old news and nobody wanted anything to do with him. People love babies, even sick babies. Even crack babies. But babies grow up to be kids, and kids grow up to be teenagers. Nobody wants a messed up teenager.

And Moses was messed up. Moses was a law unto himself. But he was also strange and exotic and beautiful. To be with him would change my life in ways I could never have imagined. Maybe I should have stayed away. Maybe I should have listened. My mother warned me. Even Moses warned me. But I didn’t stay away.

And so begins a story of pain and promise, of heartache and healing, of life and death. A story of before and after, of new beginnings and never-endings. But most of all...a love story.

This story sounds fantastic and I cannot wait to read it.  Amy is also giving away a $100 GC to Amazon!!  You can enter Here

Take Me With You, by KA Linde
Here is the cover for Take Me With You, book 2, the followup to Take Me For Granted.
Displaying Take Me With You.BookCover5x8_BW_380.v3.jpg
Synopsis
Grant
All of my demons are coming to head.
I thought Ari could push them back.
I thought I could conquer my vices with her at my side.
I thought wrong.
Aribel
Fear is my new constant.
I thought I could conceal it, contain it, control it.
I thought that now that I had Grant the worst was over.
I thought wrong.
But if we’re going to survive, wherever you go…take me with you.

Excerpt
I’d never given much thought to falling in love.
For someone like me, it seemed an impossibility. Why dwell on something that would never happen? I had no interest in chicks for more than what they could give me in one night. Fuck ‘em and then show ‘em the door.
There were always clinger groupies, who claimed to love me. But they loved what I could offer them. Sex. A one-night stand. A story to tell their friends about how they slept with a rocker. With Grant McDermott.
I was a name. A symbol. Nothing more.

KA Linde is the queen of angst, I have enjoyed all of her books, and I really enjoyed the first one in this series, and I can't wait for the next book.

High Stakes by Nikki Groom

Here is my review for High Stakes by Nikki Groom, The Kingdom book 2.  I really enjoyed book 1, and the end was quite the cliffhanger, so I was anxiously awaiting the conclusion.

Synopsis
"Stupid. Beautiful. Girl. How did you ever think you could be free?”
The last words I heard before the darkness took me and my dreams were shattered
I was on my way to having it all.
Friends, family and a future.
Everything I had wished for but never thought possible.
Denham King showed me just how good life could be. A life where love and happiness were within reach.
Almost.
I should have known it would never last.
My past is a dark, damp cloud, that has seeped into my skin and left a cold promise.
A promise of hurt and pain.
A promise of a long, hard fight, where the stakes are high and the risks threaten lives.
When your world gets thrown in all directions, and your dreams for the future are torn from your grasp; how do you go on?
Can I fight the demons that haunt me?
Can love save me from fate’s cruel path?

After the ending of book 1 I was very concerned about where this book was going to go.

Displaying HS4.jpg
It went a completely different direction than I thought it was going to.  This story kept us guessing all the way till the end.  There were so many twists and turns, I really didn't know where it was going.  And I loved that!  I loved the characters, Ari is strong and confident.  And Denham is swoon worthy for sure!  This was a great conclusion to a great series. It kept me on my toes, and it was sexy too!!  I loved all the characters in this story, I am hoping that she will do a story for another couple that we meet in the book.

Displaying HS3.jpg
I highly recommend this series, and both books are available now.  Book 1 is on sale for $.99 right now!!

Love Always by Yessi Smith
Synopsis:
**This book is intended for a mature reading audience and isn't suitable for readers under the age of 17.**
In love with a man on the brinks of greatness, Dee has her life figured out. The love they share is comparable only to the love they feel when they find out Dee is pregnant. Josh and Dee welcome their future together with eagerness as they plan a wedding, baby, and the upcoming tour for Josh’s band Wasted Circle. Big things are finally happening.
During Wasted Circle’s first big show, tragedy strikes leaving Dee alone. The life her and Josh planned for ends up being nothing but desolate promises. Unable to watch his best friend’s girlfriend drown under her own despair any longer, Adam steps in to help Dee cope with her loss and the upcoming birth of her baby. Adam is patient, kind and unrelenting. He stands by her side, never faltering despite his growing desire to be more than Dee’s supportive shoulder and the idea that he is betraying Josh. He refuses to give up on Dee and remains loyally by her side even when she admits herself into a psychiatric ward and he is left to father Josh and Dee’s baby.
But even sweet and sturdy Adam has his limits.

I was sucked into this story from the beginning.  And my heart was immediately broken!  I really thought this book would be a traditional rock star book, but it isn't.  The band is really just a background to the main story, which is the evolution of Dee and Adam's relationship.  Adam was an amazing character that stepped up and totally took over.  I loved him.  I felt for Dee, and I wanted to hug her, but there were several times when I wanted to scream at her.  We had an inside view into Dee and Adam's turmoil, and I just wanted to yell at them to just talk to each other!!!
This story had love, heartbreak, angst, and it was sexy too.  It made me cry and laugh.  I really enjoyed it.

Conspire
by SE Hall and Erin Noelle

I have loved everything by both of these authors, and I was really excited to read this co-authored book.

Synopsis:
Graham is Bryce, Bryce is Graham, and his brother Devon...is dead.

Jocelyn Craig was never a part of the plan in his search for answers, and neither was what they find, together.

Love, freedom, truth...will she choose what has always been or what could possibly be?

This book sucked me in from the beginning.  I loved both Bryce/Graham and Jocelyn.  Bryce/Graham was sexy and a little arrogant.  Jocelyn was smart, funny and beautiful, and not afraid to go after what she wants.  This book also had great supporting characters that I immediately adored.

The story keeps you on the edge of your seat.  You can tell as the story goes that everything isn't adding up, and I couldn't wait to get to the conclusion.  I liked that this wasn't a typical romance novel.  It wasn't all sex and mush, it actually had a great twist, but it still managed to be sexy and hot.

Displaying Conspire teaser2.jpg

I definitely recommend this book!  It was a 4.5 star read for me, with great characters and a little mystery to keep you going!!  Both of these authors can create amazing characters that stick with you long after you have finished the book.

COVER REVEAL
Schooled 4.0 by Deena Bright
I am a huge fan of Angelisa Stone, and Deena Bright is one her pen names, and this is her new book, and I am super excited to share it with you!

Displaying SCHOOLED 4.0 FULL JACKET.jpg

This book looks sexy and hilarious and I can't wait to get my hands on it!!

Here is the synopsis, should be released sometime around the end of September!!!

Schooled 4.0
The “SMUT-TACULAR” Teachers’ Edition
Four Books in One
“How far will you go for an A?”
The horrifying shock of witnessing her husband banging his skank-whore secretary spurred this ever-wholesome and rule-following teacher to seek some new lessons of her own.  A young teacher learns about sexuality, pleasure, and satisfaction from rather unlikely and forbidden teachers, her former students, now recent college graduates.  Not only does she get SCHOOLED by the beautifully-built, all-American football player who struggled to pass her class, but she also learns a few tricks from the innocent, well-read, and thoroughly sexy bookworm.  Both men teach her that not all curricula worth learning comes from a book.  But when it’s time to make THE FINAL LESSON PLAN, the newly-sexualized teacher must take the curriculum further into the bedroom and even closer to her heart in order to decide which scholar will graduate “cum lade.”
But while the teacher is working on her lessons, her friend is making some heat of her own in CHAR GRILLED JASPER, burning up the pages with sexy secrets and sizzling sensuality.  Meanwhile, a “girls only” class is experimenting in the sciences with a focus on chemistry, physics, and of course anatomy in ALL GIRLS’ SCHOOL.

Bittersweet Catastrophe (Second Chances 2.5)
by Maureen Mayer

This book is the third in a series, and it was only supposed to be a novella, but it's almost 200 pages, and a ton happens!!!  This is the continuation of Shayne and Liberty's story, who we meet in book 1.  I have really enjoyed this series, and this one didn't disappoint.

Synopsis:
For•ev•er (fɔˈrɛvə; fə-): without end; everlasting; eternally
It might have taken twenty-two years to find Liberty, but now that Shayne has her, he’s not willing to let her go without a fight.
Shayne and Liberty finally found their forever, leaving Shayne’s past indiscretions behind and moving forward to start a life together. But what if forever wasn’t truly in the stars for them?
What should be one of the happiest times in their lives as newlyweds quickly turns into a race against time. Liberty must choose between accepting her fate and protecting her family, and taking a risk that could ultimately end in more heartache.
Liberty’s decision will test the strength of their trust, but is it enough to keep Shayne from breaking down altogether and losing the woman he loves?

I loved Shayne in Relinquishing Liberty, and that just grew in this book.  He is a little bit of a bad boy, but with a huge heart, and he LOVES Liberty with everything he has.  Liberty frustrated me a bit in this story, but without giving too much away, I think I would have done what she did, had I been in her position.

Displaying BCteaser02.jpg

This book was sexy, and heart breaking at times.  I wanted to scream at Liberty and hug her also.  I loved that we got Shayne's POV in this story, I loved getting into his head.  This book made me laugh, but also made me sob like a baby.  I experienced every heart break with Shayne and Liberty and it completely sucked me in.

Displaying BCteaser04.jpg

I really liked this continuation of Shayne and Liberty's story and I can't wait for more.  There is one more book in this series coming, and I can't wait.  The first 2 books in the series are on sale for $.99 right now, so if you haven't had the pleasure of reading them yet, now is the time!

Cover Reveal for Raced

Driven is one of my all time favorite series, and Raced is a novella from Colton's POV and it comes out in September.  I am ecstatic!

Here is the cover, synopsis and a blurb from the book

Colton Donavan lived life in the fast lane, but it took Rylee Thomas to teach him what racing was all about.

Arrogant
Rogue
Broken
Conceited
Dirty-Talking
Rebel
Egomaniacal
Voodooed
Bent
Reckless

You think you know me?

Think again.

*Raced is not a complete re-write of the Driven Trilogy. This companion explores pivotal scenes as well as some new ones written in Colton Donavan’s point of view that were not previously published in Driven, Fueled, and Crashed. Hear his thoughts, experience his inner-turmoil, and laugh with him on his journey as he overcomes his demons and accepts what it means to love.

This novella is for the devoted readers of the Driven series. It is recommended that this companion be read after Driven, Fueled, and Crashed.

Excerpt:

“Well, according to you, I took the checkered flag last night, Rylee...” I say as I take a step toward her trying to snap my thoughts in line, make up a reason for being here besides the need to make sure she’s okay when I could have just picked up the fucking phone. I resist the urge to reach out and touch her because I know if I do, my dick will rise to the occasion and do the talking for me. And fuck if I know what it will say.
She licks her lips, dick beginning to win the internal thought process when I suddenly figure out my angle – my in – my stupid ass excuse for showing up the morning after like some pussy-whipped douchebag. Because fuck, you can’t get pussy-whipped after just one taste. Shit like that takes time to acquire.
Or so I’ve heard.
This man might be drawn to the pussy palace but fuck if its queen will hand out orders that I’ll obey.
I take another step toward her, still undecided about my excuse for being here when I glance down momentarily and see her nipples harden through her tank. Well at least I know she’s still attracted to me. Let’s see if I can make her like me again. Give me another chance.
Bingo. Truth shall set me free. There’s the answer. I just want another chance when I’ve never wanted one before.
And therein lies the second question, another chance at what though?

Colton is one of my all time favorite book boyfriends, and Rylee is probably my favorite female character.  I can't wait to get more of these two.  Pre order is available for this book now, and also Becks and Haddie have a book coming out early next year.
